Years ago Zoey came home from school and asked me if I knew what LOL meant. Which made me LOL. I think my response was something along the lines of “Girl, my generation invented LOL.” She went on to quiz me on all of the acronyms (I passed). And then I started throwing a bunch at her that she didn’t know.
Over the years she’s thrown some at me that I don’t know. Also sometimes there’s the weird moment where I’m like “Is this typo or an acronym?”. But over all we’ve all been on the same page with acronyms for awhile.
Fast forward to this week. She was asking for book recommendations (SQUEE!!!!) I texted her a bunch, then I texted her a photo of the 15% off card from the book crawl and said “JIC”.
She didn’t know that one. Score one for mom. It’s nice to know that even though she’s in high school I still have things I can teach her. 😆
